The Learning Excellence Grant Program (LEGP) is the cornerstone of the Foundation’s efforts to provide meaningful and enriching educational opportunities for all students in the Belmont Public School community. Since the program's inception, the Foundation has awarded 379Learning Excellence Grants totaling nearly $498,400. Awards have been made to teachers representing each of our community's schools and every curricular department. These awards have funded new initiatives, staff development projects, and other enrichment activities that could not be included in the regular school budget.
The LEGP is open to Belmont Public School teachers, staff, and administrators. Small grants provide up to $1,000 for projects typically benefiting a single classroom. Major grants, whose benefits are spread over a larger number of students, are available up to $5,000. There are two LEGP cycles each school year during the fall and spring.
